Box Office Report of Agneepath:Opens At Record Pace at the Box Office. Agneepath has taken an extraordinary opening at the box office all over India and is on course for a possible record first day going by the unbelievable initial. The film has taken the biggest start at the BO in recent history in Mumbai city.


Mumbai city never opens to huge occupancies at multiplexes as there are too many multiplexes in the city but Agneepath has managed a 80-85% opening which is huge.

The rest of the country has seen a huge 95-100% opening be it North India or South India. Its the first time a Hrithik Roshan starrer has taken a bumper opening since Dhoom 2 released in 2006. The film also stars some other powerful performers like Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor and aided by the immensely popular Ckikni Chameli number.

The Bodyguard first day record is 20.60 crore nett and the advantage for Bodyguard was that its second day was a holiday at places and these places showed big collections in late evening and night shows.

AGNEEPATH 100% Box Office Opening at Noida

Agneepath took a mind boggling 100% opening in Noida. The early morning shows were 100% at all four theatres with many shows already full in advance and also reports of brisk sales for late afternoon and evening shows. On its first day Bodyguard collected 26 lakhs approx on 76 shows in Noida. Agneepath has 74 shows on day one in Noida.

Don 2 Box Office Report/Review

Friday-Dec 23-2011: Don 2 took an excellent opening this morning in its early couple of shows at multiplexes of around 75-80%.

There were places like Ahmedabad and Noida which opened to 100% collections but there were places like Nagpur and Jodhpur which were around than 70%. On the whole the all India average at multiplexes this morning was around 80-85%. Delhi city opened to around 80% while Ra.One was 100%.


The opening of the film is not as strong as Ra.One but that film had Diwali Puja to contend with and collections fell from 1 pm onwards so despite a lower opening it is possible that Don 2 could see first day collections in the range of the first day of Ra.One.

Don 2 has been released on 3000 screens approx across India.

Don 2 Has Good Advance but Not Comparable to Bodyguard and Ra.One

Don 2 has had a good advance though it is not comparable to Bodyguard and Ra.One which had sold much more tickets in advance. If we compare with Ready then it is better at multiplexes than that film but not single screens. The film will put up big numbers at multiplexes across the country.

The single screen advance is lower, normally the good single screens in Delhi like Liberty and Vishaal are close to being booked out for day one by the big event films but here just 40-50% tickets are gone. These theatres are advance theatres and take the best advance bookings in the country.

In the metros the film is being helped by the 3D version which has strong bookings but at many other places pricing is playing spoil sport where more bookings are coming in for the cheaper tickets rather than the 3D ones which are priced 70-80% more than 2D at places especially in the morning shows. As there is a Tamil and Telugu version for the film, it will be the second biggest release of 2011 after Ra.One hitting 3000 plus screens.

It's a perfect fit." Says Shahid Kapoor, "I am a coffee addict and it is a great opportunity to endorse the brand."
